  • Kimberly Hurst is the Founder & Executive Director of Avalon Healing Center as well as a Physician Assistant in the Beaumont Health System Emergency Medicine Department. Under Kimberly’s leadership, Avalon Healing Center has grown to six (6) clinic sites around Wayne County and employs 27 staff reaching over 17,000 survivors of sexual violence to date. Kimberly is heavily involved at the local, state and federal levels in improving protocols and services for sexual assault survivors in all communities and is seen as a subject matter expert across the state. Kimberly, a native of Southeast Michigan and a deeply embedded professional among numerous institutions, represents and reflects the capacity and leadership of women, particularly when addressing issues related to the consequences of sexual assault and victimization.
